Special Services

The Episcopal Church has two cycles of feasts and holy days- one dependent upon the movable date of Easter Day and the other dependent upon the fixed date of Christmas, December 25th. These feast days are special celebrations at Our Saviour, and we also mark other feast and special celebrations with special liturgies. Advent season is a special time as we prepare for Christmas. Christmas season is punctuated with a festive service of lesson and carols.
Before we get to the Easter season, we recognize the fast day of Ash Wednesday, which begins the forty days of Lent, with the customary service of the imposition of ashes.
During Holy Week, our youth lead the congregation in a live-action stations of the cross. Three holy days are marked by the liturgy of Maundy Thursday, with the celebration of the eucharist, ceremony of the washing of feet, followed by the stripping of the altar.
Baptisms & Weddings
Baptism, which we call an initiation rite, is available for infant through adults. Likewise, Our Saviour offers a peaceful setting for the Celebration and Blessing of Marriage. If you are interested in these or any other pastoral liturgies, please contact the rector.
